Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Dinner

Tonight, at the Drivers Village Convention Center, 77 churches and para-church ministries gathered together with one purpose:

      — to seek the face of God for Syracuse. —

Hosted by Otis Jennings, we heard from Joe Bolognone and a representative from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Steve Rhoads, as well as Roger Burdick, each shared about prayerfully discerning what the Lord may desire to do in Syracuse, New York.

Steve challenged us with five key areas of focus:

1) Prayer – Seeking God individually and corporately. Is this His direction for Syracuse? What fruit does He desire to produce?

2) Commitment – Local leaders and believers committed to personal evangelism, one conversation at a time.

3) Training – Equipping Christians to confidently and effectively share the Gospel.

4) Outreach – Proclaiming the Gospel with the goal of reaching those who do not yet know Christ. Everyone bringing one person.

5) Discipleship – Helping those who respond to Christ grow as faithful followers of Jesus.

Over the next 12–18 months, the vision is to deepen and broaden prayer, commitment, training, outreach, and discipleship throughout our churches and communities.

The next step is for pastors and ministry leaders to prayerfully agree in a letter to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, inviting them to Syracuse to conduct an evangelistic outreach in the future.

Team leaders will collect the names to put into one letter from all who agree.

The question before each of us is simple:

Who can I talk to today about Jesus Christ and the Gospel?
